Lazy Eagle Resort
Beginning in June, 2000 I have been dividing my time between my home in Indianapolis and the Lazy Eagle Resort in Eagle Rock, MO. I expect his pattern to continue for at least the next 2-3 years, as I (first get the motel out of Probate then) figure out whether I'm cut out for this sort of business.

I have created a web site for the Lazy Eagle Resort, which you can reach by clicking here. Even postal history collectors need to vacation from time to time, so if you're looking for a quiet place in beautiful surroundings, please check out the site and see if this might be for you.
This past summer I took my cover inventory with me to Missouri and was able to keep filling orders pretty much as they came in. I expect this to be the case in future.
(10/29/01 update -- I am now the owner of the Lazy Eagle Resort, and spent the Spring fixing it up [including all new furnishings inside, and new decks outside] and the summer running it. I took my cover inventory with me again and was even able to make a few additions to the material on this site over the summer. I'll do this again next year. The resort business was doing pretty well until after September 11, when all sorts of tourism took a nose dive. It did seem to recover in October. I'll be keeping with my plan to improve and work the resort for 2 more years, at which point -- 10/03 -- I'll make a decision as to where it fits into my future. Once again, I urge you to come on down: it's a lovely part of the country -- at its best from mid-April to mid-May and from mid-September to mid-October, in my opinion.)
